Worker at Youngstown Heat Treating reports robbery

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A worker at Youngstown Heat Treating told police that a man pulled a gun on him when he confronted him for breaking into his vehicle.

Police said the incident was reported at 1:01 a.m. on December 24. A man said he was inside the Meadowbrook Avenue business working when he heard a loud noise outside by the front entrance, according to a Boardman Police report.

He said, upon investigating, he found a red van with no front license plate parked near his vehicle and a man rooting through the back seat of his vehicle. He told police that he confronted the man with a stick, when he pulled a small revolver from his waistband and drove away from the scene in the red van.

No items were reported stolen from the vehicle, other than an unknown amount of change.

The robber was described as a white man, approximately 5’8″ tall and 150 pounds, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. Police said the man was described as having a “big nose.”
