Power outage closes YSU, only essential employees to report

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown State University is closed Tuesday because of a power outage.

The university sent an alert at 5:18 a.m. Tuesday stating that only essential employees are to report to the campus.

YSU was closed Monday for a scheduled power outage to update equipment, but power was expected to be restored by late Monday night.

Another scheduled power outage is set for Jan. 3

Students are on holiday break at the campus and no classes are scheduled.
