YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The second season of horse racing at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is proving to be very successful so far.

The race track wrapped up its 37-day fall-winter session on Wednesday with several records.

People wagered more than $25.6 million at the track and at off-track betting sites around the country. That’s almost $700,000 a day. On-track wagering made up $1.1 million of that.

The track was full, with 3,262 horses total competing in 322 races; more than ten horses per race.

Horsemen took home more than $4.8 million.

Heading into 2016, the next races are on Saturday, and the season ends on April 23rd.
