YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Hundreds of people were downtown Thursday night to celebrate New Year’s Eve for Youngstown’s First Night event.

They left behind hundreds of pounds of trash, which crews began to clean up on Friday morning.

Bottles, cans and trash littered the streets, even though the city provided trash cans for the crowd.

First Night Youngstown 2016 included a ball drop, as well as ice skating at the Covelli Centre, musical entertainment, art activities and fireworks at 9 p.m. and midnight.
