WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A newborn baby is already making history at just two days old. Gianna Rose Bellino, born at 8:24 p.m. on New Year’s Day, was the first person born in Trumbull County in 2016.
Her mother, Stephanie, was at the hospital under the care of nurses and doctors for almost 24 hours.
Gianna’s middle name came from her grandmother, who passed away in 2009. Her death is still emotional for Stephanie, who had her sister at the hospital with her for support.
“I don’t have my mother with me anymore. It’s just [my sister] and I,” she said.
“She did a great job. She had a real nice, I’m going to say easy, labor. She might call it something else, but she did very well,” said Lorie Prokup, a nurse at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Gianna was able to go home on Sunday. She has two older sisters who are 20 and 17 years old.
