Pa. police: Hiker finds decomposed body of woman at state park

MEDIA, Pa. (AP) – State police say a hiker found the badly decomposed body of a young woman in a state park in Media on New Year’s Day.

Trooper John O’Donnell says the unidentified victim is a tall, slender white female in her late teens or early 20s. Police believe she had been dead for several months before her body was found at Ridley Creek State Park in Delaware County.

O’Donnell tells The Philadelphia Inquirer that some clothing was also found on the “skeletonized” body. He says the body was found Friday off the trail, in a wooded section of the 2,600-acre park.

The case is being investigated by state police in Media.
