Hubbard police investigate body found near grocery store

Police in Hubbard, Ohio are investigating a body that was found near W. Liberty St.

HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Police in Hubbard have identified a body that was found Monday next to a building on W. Liberty Street.

Investigators are not releasing the name until family is notified. They say it is the body of a white man in his 40s.

Police were called about 12:30 p.m. to an area near the Save-A-Lot grocery store, where they found the body lying in the grass near the building.

“There’s some snow on the body, so it’s been there at least since the snowfall,” said Detective Sergeant Chris Moffitt.

A unit with the Ohio Bureau of Investigation was called to the scene.

No other information has been released.

An autopsy is expected to be completed on Tuesday to determine the cause of death. Until then, police are not ruling on the cause of death.
