Attorney General’s Office investigating theft at Wellsville Elks Lodge

WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) — The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is investigating reports that a former employee of Elks Lodge No. 1040 in Wellsville had been stealing funds from the lodge, according to the Morning Journal.

Attorney General’s Office spokesman Dan Tierney told the Morning Journal that the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office forwarded the case to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI), which opened the case Monday.

He was unable to comment on the case or how much money had been reportedly stolen. No charges have been filed at this time.

Jeff Haugh, who serves as exultant ruler of the Wellsville lodge, could not comment on the case but told the Morning Journal the employee suspected of theft has been dismissed.
