Commissioner appointed for Mill Creek MetroParks

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Long time Valley businessman Michael Senchak has been chosen to serve as commissioner for the Mill Creek MetroParks.

The appointment was announced Wednesday by Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert Rusu, Jr. Senchak will replace Lou Schiavoni, whose term expired in December.

He also serves as president and CEO of the Mahoning Valley Hospital Foundation, which he established in 2009 to distribute grants for charitable, substance abuse and educational purposes in the area.

Rusu said of the appointment, “Mike is a person that is going to bring a lot of passion and a wealth of professional experience in running large public and private organizations that will help the park navigate into the future. Mike is an extremely hard-working, focused individual that only gets involved with things that he truly believes in and can make a positive impact with.”

Senchak’s three-year term will run from January 2016 through December 2018.
