WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Two winners of the Warren Rotary’s 2015 “Slice of the Valley” pizza challenge will return to vie with 10 other Valley eateries for bragging rights for the best pizza in the Valley.
WKBN Anchor Stan Boney will be one of the event’s judges. Joining him at the judges table will be Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, WFMJ’s Derek Steyer and former NFL player and Warren Harding graduate Mario Manningham.
The judges will choose the Judge’s Choice Award. Last year’s winner was Cocca’s Pizza in Liberty.
Pizza challenge attendees will vote on the People’s Choice Award, won in 2015 by Ianazone’s in McDonald.
Other competitors are Buena Vista, Belleria, Sunrise Inn, ITAM 29 and Carmen’s in Warren; Leo’s and Gus’ Italian Grille in Howland; Marco’s in Girard; Auntie V’s in Cortland; and Russo’s in Mineral Ridge.

The second annual challenge will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, January 16 at St. Demetrios Community Center, located at 3223 Atlantic St. NE in Warren.
Proceeds will benefit Warren Family Mission’s Women and Children’s Facility, transportation for Warren-area military veterans to the Solid Rock Therapeutic Riding Center in Louisville for rehabilitation and the K-9 Corps at the Warren Police Department.
The fundraiser will include Chinese and silent auctions, music and a 50/50 raffle. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 and under. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
