Brookfield surprises LaBrae on the road

LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio (WKBN) – Brian Hiner posted his seventh straight double-double to lead Brookfield past LaBrae, 55-51. Hiner led all scorers with 31 points while hauling down 12 boards. The Warriors outscored LaBrae 31-25 in the second half. Will McDermott and Chad Filipovich had 8 and 7 points respectively.

The Warriors (5-3) began the season with a 2-3 mark but have won their last three contests by holding the competition to an average of 46.7 points per game.

LaBrae (8-2) had won their last eight contests prior to tonight. Tonight, Mike Eakins scored 20 for lead the team. Tariq Drake accounted for 14 points while knocking down three 3-point baskets.

In ten games, the Vikings have allowed just 49.1 points to be scored against them.

The Vikings will host Struthers on Tuesday.

Brookfield will be back on the road again next Friday when they meet rival Champion.
