Troops receive greeting card signed in Boardman

Soldier Christmas

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A card signed by the community and members of AMVETS Post 44 has been received.

AMVETS Post 44 shared a photo that they received from a base in Turkey. About 40 soldiers posed for a picture holding the giant greeting card.

The card was displayed during the Christmas season at the Shops at Boardman Park. Before the card was sent, it was covered with signatures, including from Youngstown State President Jim Tressel.

Included in the group that posed for the photo is Jordan Williams, a 2010 graduate of Poland High School. It was Williams’ grandparents Tom and Mollie Williams’ idea to have the card sent to their grandson and his fellow soldiers.
