Austintown Jazz Band alumni form a new band.

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A new band was making some music for the first time in Austintown on Saturday.

The Fitch Jazz Alumni Band gathered for its first practice at Austintown Middle School to prepare for the “Jazz & Desserts” event on January 30.

Austintown Jazz Band alumni from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s played under the direction of Marc Pupino.

“It’s a blast,” he said. “Just great people, great guys, Austintown kids and adults are just the best that I’ve ever worked with.”

“Jazz & Desserts” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Austintown Middle School cafeteria. Tickets to sample the delicious treats will be sold for $5. Local bakers are encouraged to enter the dessert competition.
