Defense fuels Columbiana win over Jackson-Milton

The Clippers held the Blue Jays scoreless in the 3rd quarter and won 44-38 Saturday.

Jackson, OH (WKBN) – The Columbiana girls basketball team overcame a five point halftime deficit to defeat Jackson-Milton, 44-38 Saturday at Jackson-Milton High School.

The Blue Jays took an early lead in the first half, as both teams applied full court pressure. Jackson-Milton led 27-22 at halftime, but were held scoreless in the third quarter.

The Clippers used strong defensive pressure to force turnovers and create transition opportunities. Columbiana was led by Kennedy Fullum with 15 points, while Alexis Cross added 11.

Jackson-Milton (12-2) was led by Kaitlyn Totani with 12 points, while Michaelina Terranova had 10.

Columbiana improves to 13-3 on the season.
