YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County Democratic Party met Saturday to decide who it’s endorsing for the primary in March.
State representative Michele Lepore-Hagan has the party’s support. She represents the 58th district, which covers the city of Youngstown and the northeast corner of Mahoning County.
Lepore-Hagan’s husband, Bob Hagan, held the seat previously, but couldn’t run again due to term limits.
Lepore-Hagan took office last year and is running for another term in the general election in November. She says there’s still more work to be done.
“Make sure that we support our public education and make sure that we take care of the people with disabilities and the disability centers. I want to make sure that we are bringing tax payer dollars back to the community.”
Lepore-Hagan ran against Michael O’Hare for the endorsement. The chairman of the Mahoning County Democratic party says there are around 180,000 registered voters in the county.
