YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – AFC North rivals, the Bengals and the Steelers, battled it out on Saturday night, and fans from both sides gathered to watch.
It was a split crowd at the VFW Post 93 in Youngstown, which is primarily known as a Bengals bar. Even though they were rooting for different teams, every fan was hoping for a win.
“Expecting it to be a good game. We were down at the last one, it didn’t turn out too good. This is going to be different,” said Bob Dutton, a lifelong Bengals fan.
“The outcome of the game? I think it’s going to be the Steelers,” said Linda Aaron.
At Buffalo Wild Wings in Boardman, everyone seemed to be cheering for Pittsburgh.
The wait time for a table was about 30 minutes because the restaurant was at maximum capacity. Nadia, a hostess, says the wait list started around 6:15.
“Tickets left and right for drinks,” said Kamey, a Buffalo Wild Wings bartender. “When the game is just starting, it is crazy.”
Employees say playoff games bring the wildest atmospheres.
