Several citations, no DUI arrests during Austintown blitz

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County OVI Task Force, in collaboration with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, released the results of an OVI traffic enforcement blitz on Friday.

Ten officers from the Mahoning County OVI Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were in Austintown Township from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Participating agencies also included Austintown, Canfield, Boardman, Jackson, Milton, Mill Creek and the Youngstown State University police departments.

Officers conducted 39 traffic stops, which resulted in one seat belt citation, one speed citation, one summons for driving under suspension, one citation for turn signal and two summons for drug abuse, according to the Task Force. No one was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
