Child hit by car in North Ridgeville sledding accident

A boy was critically injured in a sledding accident near Cleveland, Ohio.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) –  A 9-year-old boy remains in critical condition after a sledding accident in North Ridgeville Tuesday night.

According to WJW FOX 8, The boy was sledding on a neighborhood hill at around 5 p.m. when it happened. Police say he slid out onto Meadow Lakes Boulevard and was hit by a car. The boy was trapped underneath the car and was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital.

The hill is a popular spot for children who live in the area. The hill is a barrier for the homes that back up to Meadow Lakes Boulevard.

The incident is still under investigation.
