Coroner identifies man killed in Youngstown crash Tuesday

1 person was killed in a crash in Youngstown, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man killed in a car accident early Tuesday morning.

The deceased is 40-year-old Jerome Lee Campbell Atkins, of Youngstown. He died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries from the accident, according to a report from County Deputy Coroner Joseph Ohr.

The crash happened just after midnight as two cars collided at Market Street and W. LaClede Avenue. A small fire broke out under one of the cars, and firefighters rushed to put it out.

Three other people were injured in the accident. Police did not list the names of the others involved in the crash.

According to the coroner’s office, Atkins was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

The crash remains under investigation by the Youngstown Police Department and the coroner’s office.
