Ohio lawmakers create task force to review medical marijuana use

Ohio lawmakers are looking at the idea of making marijuana available for medical use. This comes after First News reported last November that the initiative to legalize marijuana for recreational use in Ohio, failed when the majority of Ohioans voted against it.

A 15-member task force has been created to look into making medical marijuana legal. The team includes a former Ohio Attorney General, a County Sheriff, and representatives of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio Children’s Hospital Association, and ResponsibleOhio.

The goal of this task force is to start the discussion again, giving folks more information and perspectives to the medical marijuana debate.

Seven town hall meetings will be held throughout the state, including Columbus and Cincinnati.
