Austintown couple on opposing sides of playoff game

A Youngstown couple is on opposing sides of the NFL playoff game between the Steelers and Broncos.

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Most people in the Valley are either a Cleveland Browns or Pittsburgh Steelers fan. For one Austintown couple, only half of that equation is true.

Julie Strozier loves the black and gold, but her husband Cory is a die-hard Denver Broncos fan.

Sunday was the perfect day for them to host a tailgate party, since both of their teams are going head-to-head in week two of the Divisional Round in the NFL playoffs.

Ironically, their neighbors are facing the same dilemma. The group will gather in Cory’s “man cave” with seven TVs.

“We kind of just hang out, do some pregame, have some food going,” Cory said. “Friends and family kind of filter down to the Broncos basement for game time, and that’s what’s going to happen.”

The winner of Sunday’s game will play next Sunday in the AFC Championship against the New England Patriots. If the Broncos are in it, Cory says he’ll have another party.
