Farrell girls nip Reynolds on Barber free throw

Diamond Barber hit a free throw with two seconds left to give the Steelers the victory.

Hermitage, PA (WKBN) – The Farrell girls basketball team overcame a six point halftime deficit to defeat Reynolds, 54-53 Monday at Farrell High School.

The Raiders led most of the first half and took a 26-20 lead into the break. But Farrell came storming back in the second half, and Diamond Barber hit 1 of 2 free throws with two seconds left to break a 53-53 tie.

Farrell was led by Matyra Evans with 17 points, while Kiara Wade and Marissa Hopson each added a dozen. Reynolds (8-5) was led by Elke Durso with a game-high 18 points, while Taylor Cadman had 13 and Alex Napadano 11.

Farrell improves to 9-5 and play at Commodore Perry Wednesday.
