Akron developer eyeing Masonic Temple

The Masonic Temple on Wick Ave. in Youngstown will be closing in June.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – An Akron-based developer who plans to build student apartments on Youngstown State University’s campus has the option to buy Youngstown’s historic Masonic Temple, which is closing permanently on June 30.

President of LRC Realty Frank Licata said his company is seriously considering buying the Masonic Temple — located downtown on Wick Avenue. A decision should be made sometime in the second quarter.

Licata said a price has already been negotiated.

The building has been home to the Masonic Temple for 106 years.
