Police investigate after body found in downtown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Police are investigating after a body was found in downtown Pittsburgh.

City public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler says authorities were dispatched just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to a walkway where a man’s body was found.

She says he was pronounced dead at the scene, near an intersection of 7th and Liberty avenues, between the Hefron-Tillotson Building and the Smithfield-Liberty parking garage.

The cause of death will be determined by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

No further information was immediately available.
