Robbery thwarted in Warren

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A robbery was stopped in Warren thanks to a quick thinking employee and a former employee.

A former employee of the 960 Quick Shop on Mahoning Avenue told our print partners at the Tribune Chronicle he saw a man walk into the convenience store just after 11 a.m. Monday holding a gun and demanding money.

The employee then locked themselves away from the would-be robber while the former employee called 911 and tripped a silent alarm.

The suspect ran away when he couldn’t open the cash register.

This is the third failed convenience store robbery attempt on Mahoning Avenue in the past three weeks.
