2016 Starting Five Boys

Sagaba Konate – Kennedy Catholic


The Golden Eagles senior averaged over 15 points and 11 rebounds per game this season. Konate helped Kennedy win 28 games this year and the Class A State Championship. Konate is verbally committed to West Virginia.


Malik Miller – Farrell


The Steelers senior averaged 20 points per game this season, and finished as Farrell’s all-time leading scorer with 1,574 career points. This is the second straight season Miller has been named to our Starting 5.


Graham Mincher – Springfield


The Tigers senior averaged 28 points, seven rebounds and three steals per game this season, while helping lead Springfield to the ITCL Red Tier Title. Mincher holds three school records at Springfield with 1,486 career points, 647 points in a season, and 52 points in a single game.


Greg Parella – Ursuline


The Irisih senior averaged over 22 points, four rebounds and three assists per game this season. Parella finished his career as Ursuline’s all-time leading scorer with 1,410 points, while helping lead the Irish to the Division II District Championship as a senior.


Gabe Simpson – Warren Harding


The Raiders senior averaged over 20 points per game this season and finished his high school career as Warren Harding’s all-time leading scorer. Simpson helped lead the Raiders to 23 wins and the Division I District Championship.


2016 Starting Five Girls

Morgan Czopur – South Range


The Raiders senior point guard averaged over 20 points, 3 assists and 3 steals per game this season. Czopur finished her high school career with 1,222 points, and was named 2nd team All-State. Her Raiders reached the Division III District Championship game, and tied a school record with 23 wins.


Delaney Dogan – West Middlesex


The Big Reds sophomore led the team in scoring and assists with over 14 points per game. Dogan was named the Region 2 MVP and helped lead West Middlesex to a school record 25 wins, and the program’s first ever District Ten Championship.


Dayshanette Harris – Ursuline


The Irish freshman averaged over 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals per game this season. Harris scored 522 total points setting a new freshman record at Ursuline.


Gabby Kline – Newton Falls


The Tigers senior averaged over 20 points and 9 rebounds per game this season, and finished as Newton Falls all-time leading scorer. Kline was named Trumbull County Player of the Year, and helped lead the Tigers to a school record 24 wins, and the program’s first ever District Championship.


Sara Price – Howland


The Tigers junior averaged over 22 points and 10 rebounds per game this season. Price was a 1st team All-State selection. She shot 44 percent from the floor, and managed 53 blocks. Price helped lead the Tigers to 20 wins, and the All-American Conference Red Tier title.
