YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown Police Department got three new officers Friday.

Mayor John McNally and Chief Robin Lees swore in three local men: Mike Manis from Boardman, Joshua Rivers from Youngstown and Greg Tackett from Niles.

All three of the new hires have previous police experience, and Chief Lees said these officers are not new positions.

“This is filling in for attrition. We’ve had three officers leave through retirements within the last two months, and these officers will be filling in for those that have left,” Lees said.

Chief Lees also said the department will continue hiring throughout the year.
