After years of planning and months of construction, the wait is almost over for the opening of the new Canfield Library. The grand opening will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30.

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – On Friday, First News got a sneak peek of the new $5.3 million library in Canfield.

Monday, the doors officially opened to the public. The building sits where the old library was on West Main Street.

Executive Director Heidi Daniel said the library embraces digital media, with online magazines, homework help, an E-book collection, as well as a self-service kiosk system.

A formal grand opening will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with plenty of performances, food and fun for the kids.
