CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Canfield Senior Jacob Esarco has verbally committed to play college football at Colgate in the Patriot League. The Raiders won the conference last season.
Big number-66 chose Colgate over John Carroll and Mercyhurst.
The 6’4, 240-pounder was recruited as a defensive lineman, and was told he stands a great chance to play right away as a Freshman.
“I’s definitely gonna be a lot of work,” Esarco said “But I think if you went to a school that wasn’t as talented or didn’t have a great year, it would feel more like a job. More like work, instead of going there and winning championships and having a blast doing it. So, I’m really excited about that. And they said that we have a great shot at winning the Patriot League again,” he added.
Esarco was a first team all-state selection last Fall… after racking up 95 tackles and 3 sacks this past season.
He will officially sign his National Letter of Intent next week.
