Stoffick’s bucket rallies Girard past LaBrae

Camille Stoffick's basket with 4 seconds left helped Girard outlast LaBrae Wednesday.

Leavittsburg, OH (WKBN) – Down by one, Girard’s Camille Stoffick hit a basket with 4 seconds left to help the Indians get past LaBrae, 46-45 Wednesday at LaBrae High School.

The Vikings took an early lead in the first half and led 23-18 at the break. A back and forth second half resulted in several lead changes heading to the final minute.

LaBrae’s Lauren Rutherford scored to put the Vikings up by one with 10 seconds left, when a loose ball gave Girard the ball under their own basket with 6 seconds left.

Stoffick took the inbounds and scored, plus got fouled to seal the victory. Stoffick finished with 12 points, while Makayla Trebella led the Indians with 22 points.

LaBrae had three players in double figures, led by Rutherford with 15 points, while Morgan Meyer and Haley Davies each added 10.

Girard improves to 10-7 overall and 7-3 in AAC play, while LaBrae fall to 8-9 and 4-6 in the conference.
