Teenager facing charges in Southern Local bomb threat

LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — A 15-year-old sophomore boy has reportedly confessed to being responsible for a bomb threat at Southern Local on Monday.

The Morning Journal reports that the boy confessed to the threat while being questioned Tuesday by the school resource officer and administrators. Charges are expected to be filed.

The bomb threat was found written on a paper towel in the bathroom, and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office was called in to investigate while the building was evacuated, according to the Morning Journal.

Nothing was found in the building.

The school has suspended the boy, and a prosecutor will decide on potential criminal charges.
