HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio – David W. Brown, 61, of Howland Township passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at home with his loving family by his side after courageously battling a long illness.
David was born August 7, 1954 in Warren to Jerry F. and Betty M. (Davis) Brown.
Shortly after birth his family moved to California and spent 8 years in Ocean Side before returning to the area.
He graduated from Howland High School in 1972.
He married Pam Daniels in September 1973 and he later became a trucker driver for Seven Up bottling Company and was employed there for 40 years until he became ill.
Together with his family, he was an active member of the Warren North Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and passionately enjoyed his volunteer ministry, helping others and eagerly shared his faith in the Bible’s comfort that Jehovah promises no more pain, sickness and death on Earth in Paradise soon to come.
He loved his family very much and cherished spending time with them, enjoyed golfing, basketball and fishing and always looked forward to his special games of basketball and Putt-Putt with his granddaughter, Ahjenae, his “Missy Miss”.
Dave greeted everyone with a warm smile and kind words and had a natural way of calming, comforting, uplifting and encouraging others and that continued all through the struggles of his illness.
He leaves to cherish his memories and strong spiritual legacy, his wife of 42 years, Pamela (Daniels) Brown of Howland; his daughter, Shelease Windle of Warren; two sons, Adrian (Gabrielle) Brown of New Lexington, Padrick (Sherry) Brown of Warren; his mother Betty Brown of Warren; his brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Brown of Warren; his sisters, Darlene (Robert) Clement of Beckley, WV; Selane (Damion) Walters of Warren; his granddaughter, Ahjenae Windle; his grandson, Joshua Carpenter of Monroe, NC; his nieces, Jeshanna Daniels, Amber Daniels, Cedriawna Johnson; his nephews, Stephawn Brown, Brandon Brown, Kevin Smith and Christopher Smith and many friends who truly loved, admired and will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; brother, Robert Davis; and sister, Tlana Smith-Bennet.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1963 Ewalt Ave NE, Warren.
The family wishes to extend their special thanks and gratitude to Dr James Enyeart, Dr Jawad Francis, Dr Medford Mashburn and the whole staff at St Joseph Cancer Center, nurse Erin and all at Hospice of the Valley that showed such special care, support and kind attention in his final days.
