Freshman Harris leads Irish past Crusaders

Ursuline freshman Dayshanette Harris scored a team-high 20 points in a 65-55 win Thursday.

Youngstown, OH (WKBN) – The Ursuline girls basketball team defeated Canton Central Catholic, 65-55 Thursday at Ursuline High School.

The Irish jumped out to a quick lead in the first half, with a big second quarter to give Ursuline a 41-19 lead at halftime. But the Crusaders came out strong in the second half to keep it close.

Freshman Dayshanette Harris led Ursuline with a team-high 20 points, while Simone Comer added 14. Canton Central Catholic was led by Katie Furey with 24 points, while Hannah Risaliti had 11.

Ursuline improves to 7-11 overall, while the Crusaders fall to 14-5. Canton Central Catholc won the JV game, 38-22.
