Weathersfield school evacuated for odor investigation

Seaborn Elementary in Weatherfield Twp. was evacuated Thursday because of a gas leak.

WATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Seaborn Elementary school in Weatherfield Township was evacuated Thursday because of a report of an unidentified odor in the building.

Crews were called about 12:55 p.m. to the school at 3800 Carver Rd. to investigate what was described as a gas odor.

The school was evacuated and emergency personnel searched the building for a cause.

Superintendent Damon Dohar said someone noticed an odd smell in the building and as a precaution evacuated the building and called the fire department.

The school was cleared and students returned to the building about 2 p.m.
