Kasich doesn’t mention Sebring when asked about Flint water crisis

Ohio Gov. John Kasich doesn't mention the Sebring water crisis during the presidential debate Thursday night.

DES MOINES, Iowa (WKBN) – Ohio Governor and presidential candidate John Kasich missed an opportunity, some believe, to mention the Sebring water crisis during the debate Thursday night.

Kasich was on the stage in Des Moines, despite the fact that polling has him coming in at less than three percent nationally.

One of the moderators asked Kasich how he would have handled the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. In his response he did not mention what is happening in the village of Sebring. Instead, he pointed to other examples of his leadership as governor.

Earlier this week, WKBN 27 First News contacted the governor’s office about the water issues in Sebring. A spokesperson for Governor Kasich said “He has received regular briefings on the Sebring water issue…and fully supports Ohio EPA’s efforts to help fix the problem.”
