Ribbon cut for new Canfield library

New Canfield library has ribbon cutting and grand opening event.

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The brand new Canfield Public Library held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Saturday.

The event attracted hundreds, who enjoyed entertainment and the library’s collection of 65,000 items.

The $5 million building is over three times larger than the old library.

It features a coffee bar by Stone Fruit Coffee Company, and technology that allows people to check out their own books and keep track of their accounts.

Executive Director Heidi Daniel believes the best feature is the early learning center.

“The most unique feature here is definitely the early learning center, which is sort of our playscape area that features developmentally appropriate learning activity centers for children primarily 0 to 5. But I think even a little bit older enjoy it.”
