Seven people were rescued from the roof of a house on fire on Oxford St.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown firefighters responded to a house fire on Oxford Street Saturday night.

They say when they arrived, people were on the roof of the home.

After being rescued from the roof, a man, woman and five children took refuge in a car that was parked in front of the house. Two dogs were also rescued from the scene.

Firefighters say the cause of the fire is still unknown. They were tearing down the walls Saturday night to make sure there was no fire left.

The residents are unable to stay at the house Saturday night due to the smoke.

The fire is still under investigation.
