WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio Health Department was at Cedarcreek Health Care Center in Warren Sunday night.

An employee says the health department has deemed Cedarcreek safe.

They are currently monitoring the building and interviewing patients. There is no time table for how long the health department will be there.

Cedarcreek Health Care, along with Campus Health Care in Liberty, is owned by New Beginnings Care, LLC. New Beginnings filed for bankruptcy early in January.

The Campus Health Care facility shut down on Friday after a state inspection determined it was on a federal “worst of the worst” list.

A Cedarcreek supervisor says the facility will not be closing.

According to a Medicare Nursing Home Profile of Cedarcreek on its website, the facility received an overall rating of one star. Health inspections conducted in 2015 noted 12 “health deficiencies.”

The Department of Medicaid sent Cedarcreek a certified letter and email on Friday, indicating a proposal to revoke the Medicaid provider agreement between the nursing home and department for reimbursement from the government. The facility has a right to appeal and can make corrections.
