$28K in Oxycodone seized in traffic stop

Over 1,000 pills were found in the car

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – Over $28,000 in narcotic pain medication was seized during a traffic stop in Shelby County.

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled over a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo about 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 on Interstate 75 for following too close.

Troopers called in a drug sniffing K-9 and found over 1,181 oxycodone pills in the truck of the car. The street value of the drug is estimated at $28, 344.

The driver, John Blevins, 41, of Grayson, Kentucky, and passenger Travis Pinson, 25, of Detroit, Michigan were arrested and taken to the Shelby County Jail.

Both men are charged with drug possession.  A picture of Pinson was not available.
