CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – Campbell Police arrested a suspect believed to have robbed the Huntington Bank at 809 McCartney Rd.

Police spotted 26-year-old Orlando Popa running near the Four Seasons Flea Market building, just after the bank robbery around 3:40 p.m. Monday. Police said a witness pointed Popa out, saying that he had robbed the bank.

Popa was apprehended and found with $1,000 in his pocket, according to a police report. He said to officers, “the voices told him to do it.”

Police say Popa went up to a teller at the bank and claimed to have a bomb in his backpack. He then demanded $10,000.

A teller told him she didn’t have that amount of money, and she gave Popa some money. Police said he then ran, leaving his backpack at the scene.

A Bible was the only thing inside the backpack, according to police.

Popa was charged with aggravated robbery, and he was taken to Mahoning County Jail.
