Prime Healthcare completes acquisition of East Liverpool Hospital

The acquisition includes River Valley Physicians and Ohio Valley Home Health Care Services


EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – Prime Healthcare Foundation has completed the acquisition of River Valley Health Partners, which includes East Liverpool City Hospital, according to an announcement made by both agencies on Monday.

The Morning Journal reports that River Valley Physicians LLC and Ohio Valley Home Health Care Services Inc. are also included in the acquisition.

Dr. Prem Reddy, chairman, president and CEO of Prime Healthcare Services, said in a press release: “Prime Healthcare looks forward to working with the physicians, nurses and employees at River Valley Health Partners to ensure the best care for the patients they serve… We believe that every community deserves exceptional health care close to home. Prime hospitals are consistently ranked among the best hospitals in the nation, and we have no doubt that River Valley Health Partners will continue that legacy.”

Ruben Garza, interim CEO of East Liverpool City Hospital, said, “The mission of the Prime Healthcare Foundation aligns with the long-term mission and vision of (the hospital), and we look forward to serving patients and partnering with the community well into the future.”

With the addition of River Valley Health Partners, Prime Healthcare includes 42 hospitals in 14 states with nearly 42,000 employees and physicians.

More information is expected to be released at a meeting Wednesday night, according to the Morning Journal.
