Train derails and catches fire in Stark County, Ohio

At least two cars on a train derailed and caught fire

BREWSTER TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Fire crews from several departments battled a train fire in Stark County on Monday night.

The fire happened just before 6 p.m. in Brewster Township, which is just south of Massillon.

At least two cars on a train derailed and caught fire. About 500 people living nearby were told to go to Fairless High School as a precaution.

The train was carrying hazardous materials. There have been no reports of any injuries at this time.

It is unknown what caused the train to derail.
