Armstrong helps Mooney outlast Aquinas

Cardinal Mooney's Andrew Armstrong scored 16 points to lead the Cardinals to a 58-54 win over Aquinas Tuesday night.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) –  Cardinal Mooney topped Saint Thomas Aquinas 58-54 in boys high school basketball action.  The Cardinals had dropped four of their last five games entering Tuesday night’s action.

Andrew Armstrong led the Cardinals with a team-high 16 points.  Trell Thomas added 15 points in the victory.  Patrick Pelini also reached double-figures, finishing with 10 points for Mooney.

Mooney improves to 9-6 overall on the season, and 6-3 on their home floor.  The Cardinals return to the floor Friday night against arch-rival Ursuline.  Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM Friday night.
