NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – WKBN is digging into what investigators were looking for when they searched the home of former Niles Mayor Ralph Infante Monday.

Agents from Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation went through Infante’s home, and brought out several boxes of items.

Infante told First News nothing in his home would interest police.

Police also searched a business Infante operates at 1762 North State St. in Girard, which, according to the Tribune Chronicle, Infante operates.

Ohio Attorney General’s Office Spokeswoman Jill Del Greco declined to confirm why police raided the two locations, other than to say that they are in connection with an ongoing investigation.

Carrie Bartunek, with the Auditor of the State’s Office, said only that the search warrant was executed at the Auditor of the State’s request. She said she could not comment on the warrant, as it was sealed.
