The tractor-trailer caught fire on the Ohio Turnpike near Lordstown

A semi fire slowed traffic on the Ohio Turnpike in Lordstown, Ohio.

LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A tractor trailer fire shut down a part of the Ohio Turnpike early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened about 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the turnpike, just east of the Route 5 exit in Lordstown.

Firefighters quickly got the fire under control and cleared away the accident about an hour later, but the lanes remained closed for some time because the water used to put out the fire froze on the road.

All lanes have reopened. No injuries were reported.
