YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The YSU Football team added 10 new recruits to the program today. Head Coach Bo Pelini says it’s fewest he’s had in his coaching career, but that it’s based on the limited number of scholarships the Penguins had available.
That recruiting class does include a few local standouts. Farrell senior linebacker Malachi Newell is headed to Youngstown State… along with two players that know Stambaugh Stadium pretty well… Cardinal Mooney senior Devon McNutt…and Ursuline Lineman Giacamo Cappabianca.
Additionally, two other Cardinal Mooney players are heading to the Penguins as preferred walk-ons including Nick Maxin and David McDowell.
