HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Team Bundy Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Howland held free self-defense seminars for the entire family on Saturday.

The academy offered a Bully-Proof for Kids class, as well as the Combatives for Adults and Self-defense for Women.

“Our school focuses 100 percent on teaching self-defense here as a curriculum,” said owner and coach Jim Bundy.

Every few months, the academy opens its doors to non-students, so they can learn important self-defense skills.

“We had a lot of our current members bring friends in, and we had some…people from the public come check it out and see what it’s all about.”

Bundy holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and a Black Belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu. He has been teaching martial arts and practical self-defense skills for 20 years.
