NORTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Multiple fire departments were called out to the scene of a barn fire in North Bloomfield.
The fire was reported at 1856 state Route 87 around 4:30 p.m., according to Trumbull County Dispatch.
Roger Peterson, assistant chief of Bloomfield Fire Department, said firefighters focused on keeping a boat and a camper nearby the burning barn from catching on fire.
Peterson said the fire appeared to have started near the middle of the roof.
“We lost the roof, we lost the back half of it, but we were able to save a lot of the contents,” he said.
Peterson said the cold weather was challenging in putting out the flames.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Bristol, Bloomfield, Greene, Mespo and Orwell fire departments were called out to assist, as well as Ashtabula and Geauga counties. A water shuttle supplied water, as the area is without fire hydrants.
