WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police said an elderly woman was taken to the hospital for a possible hip fracture and broken arm, which she sustained after a robbery on Mahoning Avenue.
The 88-year-old woman told police she was getting out of her car, which she pulled into the garage around 11:45 a.m. Monday, when an unknown man came up from behind her and grabbed her purse. The woman said the robber caused her to fall to the ground on her driveway before running away.
The robber was described as a white man wearing a coat with a fur hood, according to a police report. The victim did not get a good look at his face.
Police said the woman was laying in her driveway, covered in blankets provided by neighbors, when officers arrived. She was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital for her injuries.
