Man arrested in connection with Youngstown shooting death

The shooting happened on Youngstown's east side Wednesday afternoon.

Kimani Hodges was arrested and charged with aggravated murder in Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown police say they have arrested a man in connection with a murder on the east side Wednesday, as well as identifying the victim.

YPD officers and US Marshal’s Task Force members picked up Kimani Hodges just before midnight Wednesday and charged him with aggravated murder. Police identified the victim as Jason Fonseca, 20.

Investigators think Hodges shot and killed Fonseca at a house in the 100 block of Ayers Street Wednesday afternoon. They were still questioning Hodges early Thursday morning.

WKBN archive information indicates police charged Hodges in connection with a May 2014 robbery and shooting at the Sami Quick Stop in Struthers.
